Abstract

Modeling of location information is an interesting and important topic, which influences essentially the quality of developed location-aware computer systems. In this paper the author takes a look at the means of representing spatial information. Different model types and some of their extensions are presented and compared. Then following onto the discussion on some special features of location-aware systems design in ubiquitous computing environments, a set of open questions is offered for all enthusiasts to work on.
