Abstract
Optical Character Recognition on Mobile Phones (in cooperation with MIT) (M)Status: Abgeschlossen
Smart phones have become high performance computing platforms. With their high-end cameras and displays, they have become great tools to interact with the real world. Examples include apps like Google Goggles or WordLens.
In this project, we intend to investigate the possibility of using optical character recognition technology on mobile phones to recognize the text on product packaging such as nutritional information or prices. Applications include translations into different languages and online price comparisons.
This project requires an interest in image processing and mobile phone development. The ideal candidate also has good programming skills. Student/Bearbeitet von: Ekansh Anand Contact/Ansprechpartner: Christian Floerkemeier, Gábor Sörös
