Abstract
Blur Removal from Document Images (M)Status: Abgeschlossen
Smartphone cameras are commonly used for taking photos of posters or pin-board advertisements to remember a piece of information. Unfortunately, camera shake can result in motion blur in the recoded image that causes character recognition algorithms fail.
The goal of this MSc thesis is to investigate how to remove motion blur from document images. While in general blur removal is a rather difficult problem, here several additional cues about the special structure of the underlying sharp image can aid the solution.
