Web-oriented Infrastructure for Monitoring and Service Interaction for Augmented Environments (M)

Status: Abgeschlossen

The main goal of this project is to investigate and develop a system prototype of a web-oriented infrastructure providing mechanisms for monitoring and service interaction of augmented environments, based on the Web of the Things concept. On one side, the main project research will be directed on the development of an advanced RESTful gateway incorporating new concepts, mainly in the areas of eventing and data streaming, microformat based APIs, multi-device composition, etc. On the other side, this Master project will include research and development of additional system components, as well as integration of auxiliary technologies. Special clients and plugins as well as intermediate controllers for non-IP enabled devices will be taken into consideration and developed to increase the overall usability of the system and bring it to the level of a real-world scenario. The expected project outcome must provide ease and straightforward device communication, control, interaction and user notifications for augmented environments such as smart homes and buildings.
