Social Sharing in the Web of Things (S)

Status: Abgeschlossen

In the Web of Things project, we integrate real-world services from embedded devices and sensor networks to the Web using well-known and well-accepted standards (REST, RSS, HTTP, URLs, etc.).

Using a system of smart gateways we have built, sensors and devices in your home are now accessible on the web. However, you probably do not want your energy consumption or your microwave functionality to be shared with anyone on the web

In this project you will explore the use of Social Networks (Facebook, Linkedin, MySpace) to selectively share web-integrated "things". In particular you will need to design and implement the integration of social networks data to our smart gateways by means of open APIs such as OpenSocial, Facebook Connect. Finally you will study and implement a user interface (e.g. mobile) that easily allows one to configure the social-based sharing of his things.
