Fosstrak Open Source Project: Interactive Client for RFID Readers (L)

Status: Abgeschlossen

Fosstrak is an open source project that was founded by ETH Zürich's Institute for Pervasive Computing. To our knowledge, Fosstrak is the most comprehensive and mature open-source RFID middleware based on EPCglobal's EPC Network standards. Among others, the Fosstrak user community includes researchers from both academia and industry, system integrators, software developers, as well as individuals.

We are currently looking for a student or a student team to implement a graphical tool that allows users to interactively control RFID readers that are compliant with the Low-Level Reader Protocol (LLRP). LLRP is expected to become the industry standard for accessing RFID readers and is supported by the Fosstrak middleware. However, there is no tool that allows users to interactively explore an RFID reader during the development and debugging process. It is the goal of this project to implement such a solution in Java.
